TOSHIWO KATSUMA
Toshio Katsuma artist was born in Osaka Lives (March 1951) and works in Neyagawa. After graduating from commercial art and design school, he worked at a TV animation production company. Debuted at the age of 18 with a trilogy of short stories in Kodansha Shonen Magazine. Later worked as a manga artist and an exclusive illustrator for a major advertising agency and design company. Toshio Katsuma was a part-time lecturer at Osaka Design College. In 2010, at the age of 59, he suffered a cerebral infarction and became paralyzed on the left side of his body, including his dominant hand. He started drawing with non-dominant hand in 2012. His solo exhibition "Katsuma Toshio's Happy Cat Exhibition" is being held in various places. His return to the original work was announced at the Saitama Traditional Crafts Center special exhibition TV news & special program broadcast in 2018.
